Your dog’s crate and carrier are more than just a place to sleep and hangout– it’s their safe space. But over time that safe space can become a magnet for fur, dirt, grime and bacteria. A regular cleaning is not only good for their health – it can make your home smell better too.

Just follow these simple tips to freshen up your pal’s place in no time.

Step 1: Wash bedding

First, toss any pads, beds or blankets into the wash using pet friendly detergents and scent boosters. These can knock out tough odors and give their bedding long lasting freshness. Be sure their bedding is machine safe before washing.

Pro tip: for extremely smelly bedding, apply a generous amount of pet odor remover and let it air dry.

Step 2: Scrub Down

Next, roll up your sleeves and arm yourself with a pet safe cleaner, disinfectant and a good scrub. Then pour the cleaner into a bucket with hot water and get to work on that crate/carrier. Be sure to remove the crate tray, so you can get into those sneaky crevices where fur and grime love to hide.

Pro tip: if the weather is nice, take the crate/carrier outside to for a good scrub.

Step 3: Rinse

After scrubbing away any stubborn stains, make sure you rinse thoroughly. Even though you’re using pet friendly products, it’s still important to rinse minimizing any chance of upsetting pet tummies due to detergent residue.

Step 4: Wipe dry with Bounty

Lastly, grab Bounty to wipe it dry. Bounty is always there to help get their crate/carrier in tip top shape.

Now that your pup’s place is all clean, you can get back to belly rubs and good times with your four-legged friend.
